Get to know me first, for free
Choosing an acupuncturist is a personal decision, and it is hard to judge someone from a website. So before you spend anything, you can book a free 15-minute chat. Tell me what is going on, ask me anything, and see whether you feel comfortable. There is no obligation to book afterwards.
What your first appointment includes
Initial consultation and treatment
We start by talking: your health, your history, your sleep, energy, digestion and stress, and what you would like help with. I may also feel your pulse and look at your tongue. Then you rest for 20 to 30 minutes with a few very fine needles in place.
Afterwards I send you a written summary of your consultation, explained in Chinese medicine terms, and your own treatment plan, so you know exactly what we are doing and why.
Follow-up treatments
Each one starts with a catch-up on how you have been. I bring together how you are on the day with your longer-term plan, and we review the plan together as you go.
What clients say
“The treatments are different every time yet I always leave feeling on top of the world… She takes really good care of me and I’d encourage anyone locally, whether you have a concern or just for wellbeing, to book in.”
“Ali is very knowledgeable and helpful and I will not hesitate to return if I need further treatment.”
Who you will be seeing
I trained at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council, whose register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. Members have degree-level training, follow a strict code of safe practice and are fully insured.
Can I claim on health insurance?
Many private health insurers and health cash plans cover treatment with British Acupuncture Council members, including Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Simplyhealth and WPA. Each policy is different, and some ask for a GP referral first, so it is worth checking with your provider. You may be able to claim back some or all of the cost.
How to pay
Payment is by cash or bank transfer. I don’t take card payments.
